Mr. Pettibone will be fulfilling the MCS superintendent’s role for the 2017-18 school year. He possesses an Indiana University Master of Science degree in Elementary Education & Administration, along with an Ed.S. in School Administration. He currently holds an Indiana Superintendent’s License and brings with him more than 40 years of educational experience in roles such as teacher, principal, and superintendent.
In these roles, Mr. Pettibone has served at Plymouth Community School Corporation, South Bend Community School Corporation, Adams Central Community Schools, and School City of Mishawaka. He has been recognized with the following awards: Indiana’s Distinguished Principal, Marshall County Reading Council - Contribution to Literacy Award, Council for Exceptional Children - State Administrator of the Year, and IBCA District II - Administrator of the Year.
Mr. Pettibone is also the founder and president of the organization, Look Into the Future Education, LLC (L.I.F.E.). For the past two years, he has worked with school corporations providing educational audits and strategic planning. This has provided him with a unique opportunity to gain knowledgeable insight of school corporation functionality from an outside perspective.
Mr. Pettibone believes, “There are four things that you cannot recover in life . . . the stone after it is thrown; the word after it is said; the occasion after it is missed; and the time after it is gone.” He is excited to be a part of Manchester Community Schools and looks forward to learning more about the students, staff, and community.
