"Allergenic" Earns Pyle Second Trip to Regional Spelling Bee

February 14, 2012

After winning their divisions of the MIS annual spelling bee, Sarah Pyle, Chloe Leckrone, Brylee Ker, and alternate Mathias McLaughlin moved on to the county-wide Kiwanis Spelling Bee and to the county-wide Journal-Gazette Spelling Bee. Both spelling bees were held at Wabash Middle School.

Showing poise and the courage to spell words aloud in front of a large audience, Chloe and Brylee represented MIS in the Kiwanis Spelling Bee. We are very proud of both girls.

Sarah won the Journal-Gazette competition! Spelling against 5th-8th grade students, Sarah spelled many words correctly before winning the competion by spelling "allergenic." Winning the county competition, Sarah will move on to the regional bee to be held at IPFW Rhinehart Center, Recital Hall in Ft. Wayne. The contest will be held on March 17 at 10:00 A.M. This will be Sarah's second trip to the regional bee having won the county bee last year. Good luck Sarah!
