1. The Beacon Credit Union Scholarship is now available in the guidance office.  Deadline to postmark to Beacon is January 31.

2. Students:  Did you know that this week kicks off the Cash For College campaign?  Have you noticed the Cash for College bulletin board near Ms. Ludwig's room 110? COME SEE MRS. DENNEY DURING PASSING PERIOD TO TELL HER THE FULL COST OF ATTENDING THE UNIVERSITY OF NOTRE DAME--tuition and fees as well as room and board.  JUST AN FYI:  THE UNIVERSITY OF NOTRE DAME HAS THE HIGHEST COST OF ATTENDANCE IN THE STATE OF INDIANA.

3.  Any student who will be in grades 8-12 next year may apply to attend Purdue University’s Boiler Vet Camp this June.  Student entering grades 8-9 would be in the Junior Camp from June 14-20.  Students entering grades 10-12 would apply for the Senior Camp from June 21-27. Apply at www.vet.purdue.edu/boilervetcamp.
Deadline to apply is February 2.

4.  Any senior planning to attend IVY TECH should apply for the following scholarships if you qualify:  Chancellor’s Scholarship - 3.2 GPA with either an AHD or Core 40 diploma.  Choice Scholarship - Top half of your senior class.  Deadline to apply for both scholarships is March 15.

5. Attention FFA Members:  Our January meeting will be tonight from 6:30 - 8:30.  The theme is movie night.  We will have great movie snacks and we hope to see you there.

6.  Attention FFA Members:  January 30 is our FFA bake sale at the basketball game.  Please bring homemade baked goods or snacks for us to sell.  The money goes to buy blanket material for Riley Hospital blankets.  You will receive FFA points for our points awards trip too.   Sign up in the ag room today.

7. There will not be softball conditioning tonight.

8. What are you reading now?  What have you read so far this semester? Starting this week, you can see your English teacher or come to the media center to write down your book title and enter to win prizes!  We will draw each Friday and anything you read this semester counts.  The grade with the most books will be rewarded at the end of the semester.  Staff can participate, too!  Let's prove that WE ARE READERS at MJSHS! 

9. Any student ages 13-17 who would like an opportunity to intern at the Fort Wayne Zoo should apply online at http://kidszoo.org/support-the-zoo/volunteering/teen-volunteers.  Deadline to apply is February 28.

The federal government has recently changed the categories for reporting racial and ethnic information in order to provide a more accurate picture of the nation's ethnic and racial diversity.
