Changes for Picking-Up and Dropping Off Children at the Bus Hub
This past school year, administrators and bus drivers have been studying ways to improve the safety of students who are being picked up or dropped off at the bus hub. Many parents have expressed concern about the safety of students walking through the cars parked in the parking lot and we hope that the following changes will improve the SAFETY of your child for the 2009-10 school year. A map with details will be given to all parents at registration. The following details describe the changes for the bus hub.
In the morning, all drivers who wish to drop off children at the bus hub lot will need to enter the drive west of the junior high building. All bus hub traffic will then turn right onto the drive in front of the junior high. Drivers should pull up next to the sidewalk in front of the junior high. Parents will thne continue to the 3-way stop west of MHS and turn right to exit the parking lot.
In the evening, all drivers who are picking up their children will enter the driveway west of the junior high and then proceed to park and wait along the driveway and sidewalk in front of the junior high. Once the student is in the car, the parent can then safely drive down the drive and exit by turning right at the 3-way stop west of the high school.
New signage will be in place to assist drivers in following the correct traffic pattern.
